About the Author
Bruce W Carpenter is a noted Indonesian art historian who has authored and co-authored more than twenty books on a varety of topics all connected with Indonesian art, culture and history. His books include several standard works, such as Lempad of Bali, the definitive book on the art of Bali's most famous artist of the 1930s, Indonesian Tribal Art, Gold Jewellery of the Indonesian Archipelago, Javanese Antique Furniture and Folk Art and Batak Sculpture. He is a personal friend of Runi Plar and is well versed in Indonesian modern and contemporary art.
